BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has given his first media interview in two decades. BBC Bangla reported the interview on Sunday (October 5) in a Facebook post. Tarique Rahman spoke about various topics including elections, national and political issues in the interview. The two-part interview will be aired on Monday (October 6) and Tuesday (October 7).
The interview will be available on BBC Bangla’s website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel at 9 am on both days.
Tarique Rahman has been living in exile in London for almost 17 years. From there, he has been participating in various party programs virtually and conducting party organizational activities. However, he has not spoken directly to any media platform during this time. Therefore, his interview has generated interest among the countrymen, including party leaders and activists.
During the tenure of the fallen Awami League government, the High Court had banned the media from broadcasting Tarique Rahman’s statements. The ban was lifted after August 5, 2024.
